Stephen M. Alford

Stephen M. Alford, 79, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on March 19, 2026. He was born on
November 6, 1946, in Lake City, Florida, to Johnny Alford and Margaret Morris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Alford and Margaret Morris; his wife, Irene Susan Alford; his brother, Jerry Alford; his sister, Joan Alford; and his stepdaughters, Bonnie and Nickie Brett.

He is survived by his children, Tracy Laird (Darrell) and Stephen Michael Alford Jr. “Mike” (Holly); his sister, Barbara Bebbington; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and six great-grandsons.

Stephen proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked as an electrician at Aero Corporation for many years before retiring from the VA in Lake City.
He enjoyed Florida Gators football, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for his humor, kindness, and his willingness to always help others.

A Memorial Service will be held at ICS Cremation and Funeral Home, on April 24 @ 1:00 PM
357 NW Wilks Lane, Lake City, Florida 32055.

Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
