Sharon Fernandes

July 12,1948 - April 3,2026

Sharon Fernandes, a woman of profound kindness and a devoted matriarch, passed away on April 3, 2026 at the age of 77.

A caregiver by nature, she spent most of her life serving others as a Nursing Assistant, providing comfort to those in their most vulnerable moments. She later transitioned into retail, where her friendly spirit was a constant presence. However, her true passion was found within the walls of her own home. She was a homemaker in the truest sense, creating a sanctuary of warmth and love for her family.

She was a woman of many simple joys. She found beauty in her garden, creativity in her arts and crafts, and peace in an afternoon spent watching her favorite shows. Above all, she had a deep and abiding love for animals—none more so than her faithful companion and favorite dog, Benji.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Mr. Herbert V. Fernandes Sr., with whom she built a lifetime of beautiful memories.

Her legacy of love and devotion lives on through her children: Mr. Herbert V. Fernandes Jr. of Arcadia, FL; Mr. Manuel D. Fernandes of Arcadia, FL; and Mrs. Sheila M. Ramsay and her husband Eugene of Lake City, FL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rosa Fernandes.

She was the proud grandmother to Mr. Herbert V. Fernandes III, Mrs. Amanda L. Debroisse and her husband Cory, Mr. Scott A. Ramsay and his wife Kylie, and Mr. Eric D. Ramsay. Her spirit will continue to shine through her three great-grandchildren: Miss Savannah J. Debroisse, Miss Anita Fernandes, and Miss Maizie A. Ramsay.

In accordance with her wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held by her immediate family. In her memory, please consider performing an act of kindness for an animal or spending a quiet moment in a garden, as she so often did.
