Samuel Karl Kari, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2026.

Samuel was born on June 12, 1958, in Fairfax, Virginia, to Allan Kari and Walburga Kari.

Samuel lived and raised his family in Lake City, Florida, for the last 38 years. He served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 22, 1978, to September 28, 1982, and later retired from CSX Railroad. He had many interests, including reading, sharing his faith, collecting coins, and making people smile.

Samuel had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, which guided his life and shaped the way he cared for others. He loved reading the Bible and found comfort, wisdom, and encouragement in God’s Word. He was also passionate about his personal relationship with the Lord and helping others know the hope he found in Jesus.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Allan Kari; his mother, Walburga Kari; and two siblings, Maria Kari and Eino A. Kari.

He is survived by his two sisters, Dorothy Boulds and Barbara Kari; nine children, Silver Kari, Charrene Kari, Lorrain Gleason, Corrana Cook, Sharron Kari, Clifton Kari, John Kari, daughter-in-law Shanda Kari, and Carrol Kari; and twelve grandchildren, Addyson, Layla, Alesha, Tessalynn, Tatum, Lyla, Easton, Chloe, Alayna, Mia, Gavin, and Kayla. He is also lovingly remembered by additional family members and loved ones.

A memorial service is still being considered.

Samuel will be remembered and deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
