Loving Memory of Samantha Burleson

January 30, 1986 – August 1, 2026

Samantha Burleson, age 40, passed away on August 1, 2026, leaving a profound void in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Samantha was a woman of immense warmth, kindness, and humor—to her family, friends, and patients, she truly was everything.

As a dedicated nurse, Samantha spent her career caring for others with a gentle heart and unwavering compassion. Her patients and colleagues knew her as a steady source of comfort and support during difficult times.

But Samantha’s greatest joy and proudest achievement in life was her family. She poured her whole heart into them, creating an endless supply of beautiful memories, strength, and love.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Brayden James Opsal of Gillette, Wyoming, and Colby-Lynn Burleson of Lake Park, Georgia.

She is survived by her loving mother and father, Rebecca and Gregory Mellott of Jennings, Florida, and her father, Bryan Burleson of North Carolina. She is also survived by her devoted siblings: her brother Bryan Burleson and his wife Brandi of Jennings, Florida; her brother Shaun Burleson of Swainsboro, Georgia; her brother Zachary Burleson of Augusta, Georgia; her sister Darby Evans and her husband Lee Evans of Lake Park, Georgia; and her sister Brittany Mellott of Maiden, North Carolina. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who meant the world to her.

Samantha was preceded in death by her beloved Grandma and Papa Burleson, as well as her cherished nephew, Aiden Mitchell.

Those who knew Samantha will always remember her vibrant spirit and love for life. She found joy in the simple things, whether she was finding peace while coloring or showcasing her competitive spirit on the softball field. Above all, Samantha loved to laugh. She brought infectious joy into every room she entered, often lighting up conversations with her favorite, mischievous sense of humor and go-to phrases like "That's what she said," "JK, tricked you," and "I'm a Nice Lady."

Her legacy of love, humor, and selflessness will live on forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.
