Robert (Bobby) Vernon Johns, aged 59, passed away unexpectedly in his home in High Springs,
FL on May 28 th , 2025 due to natural causes. Bobby was born November 8, 1965 in Savannah, GA
to Howell Talmadge Johns and Mary Frances Ellerd Johns.

Bobby was an Army Veteran that loved God, his family and his country. Bobby graduated from
Gainesville High School and worked in security for many years. From serving with the Military
Police, to working in corrections, to mall security/operations management. Prior to retiring for
medical reasons, he took pride in teaching inmates’ skills that would help them re-enter the
workforce when they were released. Bobby was humble and caring. He never met a stranger.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved to garden, cook, and talk
politics. Bobby’s favorite pastime was to spend time with his wife/soulmate even if it was just
listening to the radio, cooking out next to the pool at home, until tragedy struck leaving her
completely debilitated and in a nursing home following a massive stroke 9 years ago.

Bobby is survived by the love of his life, his wife Theresa Lakay Johns currently in Douglasville,
GA; 1 daughter Samantha Johns and her husband Matt Green of Lake City, FL; 2 stepsons that
he loved as his own Robert Crosby, his wife Jennifer and their sons Wyatt and Briar of Calhoun,
GA; and Andrew Woodard and his daughters Alexis and Sierra of Adairsville, GA; 1 brother
Malcolm Johns of Lake Butler, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family
members and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Ricky Eugene Widner, and sister
Phyllis Diane Cassels. In honoring their loved one’s wishes, the family will not hold a public service. They appreciate your understanding during this time. Instead, they ask you to cherish the memories you shared and to remember to embrace your loved ones while you can because tragedy often comes with
no warning.
