Obituary For Prescott Gee Glynn
Prescott Gee Glynn, 54, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Catherine Gee Glynn and James Thomas Glynn. Prescott is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Benning Glynn; his daughters, Hannah, Sarah, Larissa, and Alathea; his sons, Gareth and Henry; and his mother, Catherine. He is predeceased by his father, James Glynn, and his sister, Piper Glynn.
Prescott was a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, TN (1989) and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN (1995). He was a brilliant manufacturing engineer dedicated to improving processes and supporting operators. He designed, developed, and created time-saving measures and equipment at every facility where he worked and is a co-inventor on several patents. Prescott challenged himself and inspired others to make concepts a reality.
Prescott had a great sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, imagination, humility, and generosity. His calm and engaging manner made him a natural teacher, and he volunteered at local schools and with Odyssey of the Mind encouraging youth to find joy and confidence in their abilities.
Prescott loved having a big family and often remarked, "It's always a party at our house!" He was a loving and supportive father who cherished every moment he spent with his family, whether it was exploring the outdoors or family movie night and loved seeing the world through his children's eyes.
Prescott enjoyed figuring out how things worked and was always working on a home improvement project with plans for many more. He worked hard to provide the best life for his family, and we are grateful for the time and memories he gave to us.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Prescott's life at a later date. Memorials may be made to The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Foundation.
