Obituary For Max Odean Register
Max Odean Register of Wellborn, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 30th, 2024. At the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Myriam Thacker Register. He is survived by his three daughters: Terri Garrison, Toni Landen (Ted), and Judith Feola: two brothers: Gary (Teresa) and Wayne Joan); one sister: Sharon Hand; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Max served in the Army for 18 years and was stationed in Korea, Occupied Japan and Germany. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service in a combat zone. After retiring from the military, he moved to Islamorada, Florida, and worked as a back country fishing guide for several years. Eventually, he brought a farm in Live Oak, Florida, where he raised livestock, chickens and sheep. He enjoyed raising and training border collies and competing in sheepdog trails with his beloved dog Kit. Music was a big part of his life, and he loved playing his guitar with family and friends.
Services will be held on November 9th, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Live Oak Christian Church, 1015 Ohio Avenue North Live Oak, Florida. Officiating for the service Max Register, will be Craig Williams. The Army Honor Guard will close the ceremony.
