Marjorie Wagner Hester, lovingly known as Margie, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on November 7, 1944 in Eatonton, Georgia.

Margie called Georgia, Kentucky and Florida home during her lifetime, leaving behind friendships and memories wherever life took her.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, by her beloved husband, Robert Joseph Hester, whom she married on March 31, 1962, and by her brothers, Jerry Wagner and Ronnie Wagner and sister-in-law Jene Wagner.

She is survived by her children; Angela Hester Losert (Richard Nelms) and Scott Hester (Lisa); her 7 grandchildren; Sam Hester, Chelsea Hester, Joshua Harris, Jenny Hart, Emily Losert, Sara Sulik, Katie Strout, her 7 great-grandchildren; Weston Ottrock, Falon Strout, Joshua Harris Jr., Kamryn Hart, Braelyn Hester, Jace Cummings, and Jude Hester, her sisters-in-law, Loretta Wainscott and Gayle Wagner; and her cherished nieces, Tammy Page (Chuck Yount) and Penny Martin(Charles).

Marge was a woman of strong personality and even stronger faith. She always wore a beautiful smile that lit up the room. She was funny, stubborn, loving, outspoken and extraordinarily generous - all rolled into one. You rarely had to wonder what Margie was thinking, and those who loved her wouldn’t have wanted her any other way.

At the center of Margie’s life was her love for God. Her faith was not something she simply spoke about; it was something she lived.

For years, Margie was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon, Ga. and she maintained many of those connections and friendships even after moving to Florida.

In Live Oak, Fl. she joined First Baptist Church and quietly gave her time, prayers, heart and, when necessary, her opinion, to those around her. She never sought recognition for the ways she served others. For Marge, service wasn’t something to be praised for - it was simply something she believed God had called her to do. Marge treasured the close friendships she grew here, and cared deeply for each and every one. She especially loved her church family and the relationships she formed with many of the people she met through her work at the Food Ministry. She found great fulfillment in serving others and touched so many lives. She believed that faith was meant to be put into action.

Margie’s voice may no longer be something we can hear across the room, but it will never truly be silent. It will remain in our hearts, in our choices, in our faith, and in the way we love and care for one another.

Although we grieve the loss of her presence here, there is comfort in knowing that the faith Marge carried throughout her life also gave her the promise she believed in so strongly - that death is not the end, but only the beginning of eternity with her Lord.
