Obituary For Margaret Lee Ford

Ford, Margaret Lee, 73, of Jacksonville, Florida passed from this life on November 4, 2023 after her struggle with heart related issues. Peggy, as she was known, was born September 20, 1950 in the City Point neighborhood of Hopewell, Virginia. Her parents Herbert (Buzz) and Olive Ford have predeceased her. She is survived by her sisters Frances Ford Ware of Orange Beach, Alabama and Jean Ford Blanton of Clarksville, Virginia.

Peggy attended Marymount High School in Richmond and extended her education at Elon College in North Carolina. Her career in insurance eventually led her from Virginia to Jacksonville where she spent many happy years. After her retirement she found pleasure in volunteering at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. Her quick wit and compassion were welcome assets when dealing with patients, visitors and staff. No one enjoyed her humor more than her caring and supportive friends and the wonderful neighbors in her cul-de-sac. We are very grateful to them for the love they showed to our sister.

There will be a celebration of Peggy’s life held in Jacksonville at a later date. As Peggy strongly believed in the value of a library and was a dear friend to cats, donations to either of these causes or a charity of your choice would be fitting in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements trusted to ICS Cremation & Funeral Home 357 NW Wilks Lane Lake City, FL 32055. www.icsfuneralservices.com, 386-752-3436

We missed you at our recent girls lunch. We toasted you and shared our memories- how we could always count on you being late, your cat woes, your quirks. You had a terrible year- pain, many doctors, uncertainty re what was happening. You deserve to rest in peace my friend. Have an Arnold Palmer for us. See you on the other side.
