Obituary For Laura Ann Erickson

Laura Anne Erickson (née Gasbarri), age 60, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Lake City, FL, just one week after being diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma stage 4 lung cancer.

Born on June 10, 1965, in Greenwich, CT, Laura was the beloved daughter of Patricia Smith and John Gasbarri. She was baptized Catholic and held a deep love for Jesus throughout her life. Her faith remained a guiding light and source of strength.

Laura brought warmth and joy to every room she entered. Known for her bubbly spirit, upbeat nature, and boundless kindness, she had a heart that reached out to everyone around her. Whether offering a helping hand or simply sharing a smile, Laura made
people feel seen and loved. Her Italian heritage shone brightly in her life—especially in the kitchen—where she was known for her exceptional cooking skills that brought family and friends together around the table.

She found great joy in arts and crafts, especially cross stitching and crocheting. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of her creativity and love. Many were blessed to receive handmade gifts that carried her warmth and care stitched
into every thread.

Laura is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jerry Glen Erickson of Lake City, FL; her children William Jackson III of Lakeland, FL; Kristina Jackson of Lakeland, FL; Charles (Charlie) Jackson of Lakeland, FL; Amanda Jackson of Lakeland, FL; and Joseph Jackson of Lakeland, FL. She is also remembered by sisters Lenora Michelle Gasbarri of Lake City, FL; and Lisa Anne Gasbarri (Ernest Lee Peghiny, Jr.). Her nieces and nephews—Alexis Leigh Peghiny (22), and Ernest Lee Peghiny III (21), and 10 grandchildren—will carry forward memories of their aunt’s love and laughter.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Patricia Smith and John Gasbarri of Winter Park, FL., as well as her cherished daughter Rosemarie Jackson, and Charlie Jackson.

Those who knew Laura will remember her as a sweetheart—genuine in every sense—and someone who lived with compassion at the center of all she did. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched with her generosity, warmth, and unwavering spirit.

May Laura’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
