Obituary For Karen Renee Stamper
Karen Renee Stamper (affectionately known as KK), age 55, of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after a lifelong battle with myotonic muscular dystrophy.
Born on April 29, 1970, in Avon Park, Florida, Karen was a remarkable individual whose strength and spirit shone brightly despite the challenges she faced. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, resilience, and unwavering optimism.
Karen was preceded in death by her loving parents, Bill Stamper and Lucille Kirby Stamper; her maternal grandparents, Ray and Vivian Kirby; her paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Pearl Stamper; and her paternal great-grandmother, Ruth Turner. She also joins her long-standing devoted boyfriend, Johnny Abbott, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew.
Karen's memory will be forever cherished by her family, including: Three Sisters: Wanda Reliford of Lake City, FL, and Jessica and Susan Stamper, both of Vermont; Two Brothers: Jonathan Melton of Florida and Bill Stamper II of Vermont.
A Celebration of Life for Karen will be held at Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City, FL, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Mike Tatem.
