John Russell Barton, 94 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 10, 2026, at Haven Hospice in Lake City.

He was a proud UNITED STATES Army veteran that served in the Korean War. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a very social person that never met a stranger. His favorite hobby was visiting flea markets. Whether he was selling or buying he could always make a new friend.

He is survived by his children, Johanna Herrera, Beth Schumer (John), John “Rusty” Barton III, Patrick Barton (Christine), Kamala Atkinson (Brandon), and Kristopher Barton (Jeannie), his 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
