John Jacob Taylor

November 15, 1930 – December 21st, 2025

LAKE CITY, FL – John Jacob Taylor, 95, passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2025. A man of steadfast faith, John was born on November 15, 1930, in Baldwin, Florida, to the late Roland Herman and Catherine Taylor.

A proud veteran, Mr. Taylor served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he became a prominent figure in the local business community as the owner and operator of Star Motors, later known as T&T Auto Sales, for over 30 years.

John’s life was defined by his devotion to his community and his craft. He was a 60-year Master Mason of Hawthorne Lodge No. 103 F&AM and a long-time, faithful member of Bethel Methodist Church. Known for his work ethic and kind spirit, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Ann Taylor; his parents; his siblings, Louise, Maydel, and Newton Taylor; and one grandson, Clayton Black.

He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Taylor and Jarrod (Lacie) Taylor, both of Lake City; one brother, David Taylor of Valdosta, GA; and one sister, Hazel Taylor of Jacksonville, FL. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Shannon (Peyton) Franey, Cayden (Levi) Ferguson, Paizlee Lambert, Brynlee Hargraves, and Braedyn Browning; and his four great-grandchildren, Luna, Lylah, Rowdy, and Josie. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Memorial Fellowship will be held at Bethel Methodist Church to celebrate John's life. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 4843 South US Hwy 441, Lake City, Florida.
