Jeanette Ellen Johnson Fairchild at 64 years old gained her wings. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 1st, 2024. She was an amazing Wife, Mother, Sister, Granny, Nanny Mae, and Bestie.

Jeanette was born in Huntington, West Virginia on March 15th,1959 to the late Johnny Udell Johnson and Juanita Ruth Wagnor Johnson. Here, she would also attend school and graduate high school. After completing high school, she became a mother to three daughters. In 1984, Jeanette decided to leave her hometown of West Virginia and Follow her mother to Lake City Florida. Lake City is where she would spend the next forty years making a life for herself and creating irreplaceable memories.

Jeanette spent several years employed at the VA hospital before she retired. After she retired, she wasn’t quite done working and went to work with her sisters in tax prep. In her spare time, she enjoyed making memories and spending time with her family. When she wasn’t surrounded by family, she would put her green thumb to work. She loved gardening and was the absolute Queen of Green Thumbs. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t grow. Other hobbies she enjoyed doing were going to the river, bowling, and playing on the APA pool leagues. In the mist of her success in the APA pool league, while winning trophies and medals she would also soon find the love of her life.

In 1990, James (Jim) Fairchild and Jeanette would start their love story. The two joined as one, raised a family together and for 34 years created an inseparable bond.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents. Also, her four brothers, Johnny, Joe, Jay, and Jan Johnson, Her sister, Joyce Davis, and her one brother-in-law Mark Davis.

She is survived by many. Her loving husband Jim Fairchild, three daughters – Angel Johnson, Starr Williams (Tyrone), Nicole Woods-Smith (Gabrielle), One Bonus daughter Kendell Fairchild, one God daughter Maggie Egan (Sean), one sister, Judy Chapman (Wesley) and six amazing grandchildren, Jasmine Davis (Taylor), Brandon Davis, Kameron Murphy (Whitney), Noddia Newton, Tatyana Murphy and Joella Newton. She also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Sophia Yazel, Greyson Davis, Ka’Lani Murphy, Za’Niya Crusaw and Knox Fairchild, a host of nieces and nephews, lastly her best girlfriend of 36 years Barbara Mitchem (Jerry).
