Janet Marie Bagby Green

With heavy hearts, we announce Janet Marie Bagby Green, 74 years old, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 in her home at Old Town, Florida.

Jan Green was born on Oct 16, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Jan was predeceased by her parents, Lebern and Doris Evelyn Lindsay Cummings, and Graydon Edward and Ruth Bagby. Jan had four sisters: Judith Elaine Lindsay, Joan (Donnie) Everts, Brenda (Vernon) Stilwell, and MaryAnne (Scott) Hampton, as well as a sister-in-law, Janet (Melvin) Raymer.

Jan attended Harry E Wood High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jan proudly worked as an LPN at Hospice of Central Ky, Helmwood Healthcare of Ky, and Caretenders of Elizabethtown Ky. Jan took great pride in volunteering at Christian radio station WJCR, where she was able to pray and share God with thousands of people around the world.

Janet Marie and Roy Harold Green married in 1981 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Throughout their nearly four decades together, they lived in Missouri, Washington, and then settled into their Farmhouse in Kentucky. They both became Kentucky Colonels, the highest title of honor bestowed by the state of Kentucky. Their love, devotion and joy will live on through their family and friends.

Jan loved taking care of her farmhouse and flowers. She loved her animals, especially Lil Bit, Sparky and Ozzie Marie. Just as her garden was a reflection of her patience and care, her friendships were cultivated with the same loving attention. Jan is survived by her best friend since 11 years old, Kathy Phillips Talbot of Martinsville, In, and predeceased by her lifelong friend Ruth Dennis of Neosho, Missouri.

Janet Marie cherished every moment spent with her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends was a constant source of joy in her life.

Janet Marie Green is survived by her daughters Miranda Humphrey, Brandi (Shon) Blackwell, Melissa Villegas. Jan is survived by her grandchildren Stephanie (Joshua) Capps, Wyatt Humphrey, Jessie (Bethany) Humphrey, Patience (Trevor) Ballard, Chyann Green, Brooke, Kayla, Landan, and Blaine Blackwell, and Gabriel and Saeghan Villegas. Jan is survived by her great-grandchildren Briar Ballard, Hailey Humphrey, Ava Casner, Abie, Kinsey and Phoenix Ansback, and Anthony, Katie, Lucas, and Levi Capps. Jan is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that she loves dearly.

Janet Marie Green was predeceased by her loving husband, Roy Harold Green, her son, David Michael Green, her granddaughter, Christina Renee Green, and her sister Judith Elaine Lindsay.

Janet Marie Bagby Green was a woman of immense warmth and unwavering love for her family and God. Her life was a testament to her dedication to her loved ones. She found joy in creating a welcoming home for everyone and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her greatest pride was her family, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them and praising God. We find comfort in knowing that she is now with God and all her family who have gone before her.
