Obituary For James William Burnett

James William Burnett

January 1, 1965 – January 12, 2025

James was born on January 1st, 1965 in Fort Worth, TX to Frances Orr and William Schoonover. He spent his childhood growing up in Joshua, TX. After moving to Florida, he found his soulmate and life partner. Married in September of 1996, their relationship was filled with love, fun, laughter, and a close bond. He enjoyed life, traveling, fishing, hunting, and gathering with friends. They welcomed their children, Chenoa in 1998 and then Makyah in 2000. He loved and adored his family above anything. Throughout his 60 long years on this earth, he wore many hats of different colors. The hat he loved most was at the pipe fabricating plant with his buddies. His favorite hobbies were crafting Native Style items, Flint Knapping, and teaching his children the myriad of his vast knowledge. James never met a stranger in life, if you met him you left with a smile and a new friend. Even in his later years, medical conditions weighing, he still kept his humor and love of his friends. He spent 25 years on the Branford Volunteer Fire Department, first as Fire Fighter’ then later as an Auxiliary Member supporting the station through community outreach. He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brother, Michael Burnett; Sister, Dee Schoonover, and Stepfather, John Burnett. Surviving family includes his Loving Wife Cindy; Two Children, Chenoa and Makyah; Future Son-In-Law, John Paul Boles; his Stepmother, Dorothy Schoonover; Siblings, Cindy Smajstrla, Carla Porter, Billy Wayne Schoonover, Jodie Black, and Melissa Schoonover. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and chosen family. He loved them all dearly to his last breath.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday the 22nd of February 2025 at Epiphany Catholic Church, 11am. 1905 Epiphany Ct, Lake City, Florida 32025.
