Obituary For Herman Wayne Davenport
Herman Wayne Davenport, lovingly known as “Bobby,” was born on September 15, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Lake City, Florida, surrounded by the care of the hospital staff and the love of his family.
Bobby dedicated most of his life to his work as a dairy foreman—a role he approached not just as a job, but as a true calling. He carried a deep passion for the craft, and anyone who worked beside him knew how much pride he took in doing things the right way. One of his greatest joys was sharing that world with the people he loved. Whether it was teaching someone a new skill, explaining how things worked, or simply welcoming family members into the rhythm of the barn, Bobby believed work was more meaningful when shared.
He is survived by his eldest child and their spouse, Anna and Cheri Chumney, who will carry forward his love, lessons, and memory. Those who knew Bobby will remember his warm nature, his generous spirit, and the way he found purpose in both hard work and heartfelt connection.
His presence will be deeply missed, but the stories he told, the guidance he gave, and the kindness he showed will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
