Henry Lee Weatherspoon, also known as “Peter” was born January 7, 1948 to the late Obidiah Weatherspoon and Rachel Warren Weatherspoon. Henry was the husband to his devoted wife Mattie Lee Garner-Weatherspoon who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons Willie L. Garner Sr. and Reggie T. Weatherspoon. Several loving grandchildren. Two devoted sisters Ms. Claudia M. Williams, and Ms. Eva Mae Weatherspoon. Two sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death (Joe Williams, Ivey Weatherspoon, Essie Mae Weatherspoon, and Jackie Weatherspoon).

Additionally, Henry is survived by four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Clara Weatherspoon, Mrs. E. Louise Philpot, Ms. Ozie Demps and Mrs. Dorothy Scott. One brother-in-law Mr. Willie J. Scott. A host of nephews and nieces to cherish his memory along with his African Baptist Church family.
