Alexander “Alex” Dawson Stanelle, a resident of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 25. He was born July 26, 1998 in Dallas, Texas to Tori Stanelle and Russell Benedict. Alex was affectionately adopted shortly after birth by RJ Stanelle and Susan Stanelle. After 5 years, RJ and Susan decided to part ways. Then, RJ raised Alex as a single father until he married Candice who together are pivotal figures in his growing years. He spent his early years in the Atlanta, Georgia area, moved to Texas in 2013 and graduated from high school in Royse City, Texas in 2017.

Alex enjoyed his job as a skilled mechanic for Tallahassee Ford where he recently received a promotion. He got his first of three motorcycles at age 5 and began helping dad, RJ to restore classic cars the same year. Alex was outgoing and made friends easily. In high school he was active in debate, robotics, thespians, band and excelled in high school Auto Tech class. He enjoyed tuning fast cars, racing, and always loved attending car cruises with fellow “car guys”.

Alex is survived by his adopting mother, Susan Stanelle, (Atlanta, GA) his stepmother, Candice Stanelle and his father RJ Stanelle (Royse City, Texas), a stepbrother, Taylor Thornton (Atlanta, GA), stepsister and husband Elizabeth and Shane Stafford, (Rockwall, TX) a stepsister and husband Andrea and Mat Dvorachek (Rosendale, WI), a stepbrother, Kody Benedict and Grandfather Terry Benedict (Midlothian, TX), a sister Amber Peterson (Arlington, TX); along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by stepbrother, Dylan Chance.

A memorial service will be at Ralmeg Garage 4579 Capital Circle NW Tallahassee, FL 32303 on Saturday, January 6 th, 2024 at 4:00 PM; hosted by Alex’s friend and mentor, (Affectionately called his “Tallahassee dad”) Ralph Torres and wife Meghan.
