Rayward Garold “Garry” Carver, Jr., 79, passed away on November 21, 2021. He spent the weeks prior to his death visiting with family, riding around to old hunting and fishing spots, and getting into all kinds of trouble. Garry was born to Juanita Greene Carver and Rayward Garold Carver, Sr. on November 16, 1942. Garry and Linda “Lyn” Ball were married on March 1, 1969, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was called “Wolf” by his friends and “Fossil” by his 7 grandchildren. Garry was an avid fisherman, coon hunter, and master storyteller. His family heard many of his stories repeatedly, and the fish continued to grow bigger and the raccoons wilier with each telling. Garry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lyn Carver, two daughters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Reagor and her husband Charles, and Sarah Mixon and her partner Robert Leach. He also leaves behind one brother, Clinton C. Carver and his wife Brenda. His beloved grandchildren are Marylyn Fusco and her husband Sean, Jacob Cross and his wife Alexis Burgos, Connor Cross and his wife Shanna, Charlotte Reagor, Sean Reagor, David Mixon, and Grayson Rigsby. Garry’s last advice to his family was, “Love everybody – and I mean EVERYBODY – and drink water!” Wherever you are, we hope the hounds are baying and the fish are biting. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a local dog rescue organization of your choice.
Arrangements trusted to ICS Cremation and Funeral Home, 357 NW Wilks Lane, Lake City, FL 32055.
