John Joseph Arbuckle, 77, crossed the bridge from our earthly life to the divine one on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Born in Akron, Ohio on November 24, 1944, to the Late Donald Arbuckle and Geneve May Sweeny-Arbuckle. After High School, he decided to join the Army and served our country dutifully. Then through the years, John enjoyed fishing and hanging out with old friends. Especially, gathering for meals around a table preferably that somebody graciously prepared for them. He had a generous heart in helping people do things they couldn’t do for themselves. There was no doubt that he loved his little dogs and all animals for that matter. Whatever he set his mind to he was determined to get done. He will be greatly missed by those around him, especially by his close relatives. So very tall and so very rude was the stranger’s view of John. But many of you rang to say how much you loved him. No, our father was not perfect, but who in this world is? What I can say is our father was perfectly himself – the warrior and a man of great integrity. John had more
conflicts than times of harmony. He always believed he was right – that his way was the best way. He tended to march to the beat of a different drummer. He wasn’t a saint; however, he was ours. For that, we are ever grateful. John is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Mitchell (John), Patricia Bin Khlaif (Bander), sons, John Raferty, Jason Arbuckle, three grandchildren and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael.
