On Tuesday February 7th 2017, in the presence of his 2 children (witnesses for GOD), Leonard Hunter was released of this life to be with his LORD & SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST.

Leonard was born in 1925 to Prescott & Aileen Hunter in Atlanta, Ga. He was the oldest of 6 children. In 1943 he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He was sent to the European Theater where he served in Patton’s famed THIRD ARMY. He saw action in France, Germany, & Czechoslovakia. He was involved in the relief of Bastogne & the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the purple heart for wounds under fire (one nearly fatal).

After the war, Lenny returned to Atlanta, married Elizabeth, and settled down to raise three children. In the seventies he married his 2nd wife, Clarice. They moved to Tallahassee, Fla. in 1980.

Leonard’s interests were playing golf, listening to classical music, and reading the daily horoscope. He was nicknamed the “Swami” for the latter.

He is survived by his wife, his youngest brother (Ralph), his son Leonard and his wife Helen, his daughter Gail and her husband Dan Palm. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, & 2 great great grandchildren.

Leonard will be laid to rest with military honors in the National Cemetery at Canton, Ga. on Feb. 27,2017 @11:00 a.m.
