James Albert “Al” Ingram ,82, of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday April 8, 2017. Al was the youngest of nine children and was born June 27 1934 in Greensboro, NC to the late Rockwell and Lillie Lee Ingram. He graduated from Greensboro High School and attended Guilford College. He returned to college later in life and earned his BA from Eckerd College in 1992.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn, 2 children; Scott Ingram (Kathy) of Tallahassee, Teresa Thompson (Bill) of Centennial, CO and 4 wonderful grandchildren; Connor & Andrey Ingram and Blake & Carly Thompson. Other survivors include 2 sisters; Laura Lewis of Severna Park, MD and Mary Cates (David) of Raleigh, NC and a sister-in-law Joyce Handwerg of Tampa, FL. Albert was a very kind and loving man who cared very deeply about his family.
Albert worked for Hillsborough Community College as an accountant until he retired. He was also a Past Worshipful Master of Masonic Community Lodge 292 of Tampa.
He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, NC at a later date.
