Claude T. Murphy, Sr., 91, of Dunwoody, passed away December 8, 2016.  Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife Clarie, parents Lemuel and Nettie Murphy, brothers: Lemuel (Bebe), Charles, and Thadeus Murphy; sisters: Margaret Jones and Virginia Barrentine.

Claude is survived by sons, C. Thomas (Virginia) Murphy, Jr. of Lake City, FL, W. Ryan Murphy, granddaughter Grace Geci and great grandson Slade Waters all of Dunwoody. Brother Frank Murphy, sisters: Ruth Crawford, Kathryn Clay, Louise Smith, Patricia Harmon, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Robert, Libby Preston and children.

Claude proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II rising to the rant of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed in the pacific with the B-24 11th bomb group, 98th bomb squadron as a tail gunner and flight engineer.

Claude made his career as sales representative retiring from Brown Distributing Company after many years. He was a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church, served on the DeKalb County Board of Equalization, and was a precinct manager for Voters Registration and Election offices. Military services will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, December 16, at 1:00 p.m.
